Man seriously injured in Toyota truck & tree crash





Man seriously injured in Suffolk Route 58 crash

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded Saturday to a single-vehicle accident that left an elderly man seriously injured in the 4100 block of Route 58 and Holland Road near Pioneer Road.
Emergency Communications received the call at around 2:15 p.m. about an accident involving a Toyota pickup truck. Crews determined that the truck left the roadway and struck a tree.
Crews provided a medical assesment and the 80-year-old male was extricated from the truck and airlifted by Nightingale to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver’s name has not been released.
The roadway was closed while crews worked the scene and reopened at 4:35 p.m.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
