*****TAKATA EXPLODING AIRBAG RECALLS*****

These are some of the victims that we are aware of who were killed by TAKATA'S EXPLODING AIRBAGS.

If your vehicle is recalled, please protect your life and that of your family by responding to the RECALL.

14 automakers list more models in Takata recall

Detroit – U.S. safety regulators have released models from 14 different automakers that are being recalled to replace potentially deadly Takata air bag inflators.
Documents posted Thursday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration include many made by Ford, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, Daimler Vans, Toyota, Tesla, BMW, Fiat Chrysler, Mazda, Subaru, Jaguar-Land Rover, McLaren and Volkswagen. Toyota, Ford and Honda released some of their models last week.
Earlier this month, Takata recalled an additional 3.3 million faulty air bag inflators as it expanded the largest automotive recall in U.S. history. Models released Thursday are equipped with those inflators.
The company uses the chemical ammonium nitrate to create a small explosion and fill air bags quickly in a crash. But the chemical can deteriorate when exposed to high humidity and temperatures and burn too fast, blowing apart a metal canister. That can hurl hot shrapnel into unsuspecting drivers and passengers. At least 21 people have been killed worldwide and more than 180 injured.
The U.S. recalls, which are being managed by NHTSA, are being phased in over the next three years. Older models and those in states with high humidity and temperatures are getting priority.
Some of the recalls are limited to certain groups of states. To see if your vehicle is involved, go to www.nhtsa.gov/recalls and key in your 17-digit vehicle identification number. It can be found on your registration and is stamped on the driver’s side dashboard. Automakers and the government say the recall repairs should be done as soon as possible.
The latest recalls are part of the largest series of automotive recalls in U.S. history, with 19 automakers having to recall up to 69 million inflators in 42 million vehicles. The problem brought a criminal conviction and fine against Takata and forced the Japanese company into bankruptcy protection.
Here are the models posted Thursday:

What is a recall?
When a manufacturer or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) determines that a vehicle creates an unreasonable risk to safety or fails to meet minimum safety standards, the manufacturer is required to fix that vehicle at no cost to the owner. That can be done by repairing it, replacing it, offering a refund (for equipment) or, in rare cases, repurchasing the car.
What should I do if my vehicle is included in this recall?
If your vehicle is included in this recall, it is very important that you get it fixed as soon as possible given the potential danger to you and your passengers if it is not addressed. You should receive a separate letter in the mail from the vehicle manufacturer, notifying you of the recall and explaining when the remedy will be available, whom to contact to repair your vehicle, and to remind you that the repair will be done at no charge to you. If you believe your vehicle is included in the recall, but you do not receive a letter in the mail from the vehicle manufacturer, please call NHTSA's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236, or contact your vehicle manufacturer or dealership.

Ford Says Certain Ranger Pickups Should Stop Being Driven Immediately after Second Airbag-Related Death

If you own a vehicle that has an EXPLODING TAKATA AIRBAGM

for your safety, PLEASE get it taken care of.

Ford Says Certain Ranger Pickups Should Stop Being Driven Immediately after Second Airbag-Related Death

 JANUARY 11, 2018

After confirming a second death related to a ruptured Takata airbag in a 2006 Ranger, Ford is telling owners of 2902 affected pickup trucks to stop driving them immediately. The automaker said Thursday that parts are available now for fixes, and it’s contacting the vehicles’ owners. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said Ford will also send mobile repair teams to owners’ homes, tow vehicles to a local dealership for repair, and/or provide loaner vehicles.
Ford said it was notified on December 22 about a fatal crash involving a 2006 Ranger that happened last July in West Virginia and confirmed that it linked the death to a ruptured driver’s-side Takata airbag inflator. The automaker inspected the vehicle and found that the inflator was made by the Japanese supplier on the same day as another such part that was blamed for a fatal crash. That one was also in a 2006 Ford Ranger and occurred in South Carolina in December 2015. The affected pickups were built at Ford’s Twin Cities Assembly Plant from August 10, 2005, to December 15, 2005. There are 2712 such trucks in the United States and its territories and 190 in Canada, Ford said.
Globally to date, there have been 21 deaths (including 19 in Honda vehicles) and hundreds of injuries related to the faulty Takata part. Its inflators can explode on airbag deployment, sending metal pieces flying through the vehicle’s cabin. Although the unprecedented safety recall currently spans some 34 million vehicles in the United States, until Ford’s announcement on Thursday only Honda had singled out a specific group of its affected vehicles that should not be driven. Known as Alpha Hondas, they include the 2001–2002 Accord and Civic, the 2002 Honda CR-V and Odyssey, the 2002–2003 Acura 3.2TL, the 2003 Acura 3.2CL, and the 2003 Honda Pilot. A Honda spokesperson told Car and Driver in November that it estimates there are about 100,000 such vehicles on the road and still in need of repair.
U.S. safety regulators have otherwise said the millions of other vehicles affected by the recall are more safe to drive with the recalled airbags still active, because they are far more likely to inflate properly than to rupture in a crash. Ford Ranger pickups from model years 2004 through 2011 had already been part of the Takata airbag recall, which will span some 65 to 70 million vehicles in the United States by 2019, according to NHTSA. See our master list here.
In overseeing the Takata airbag recall, NHTSA has divided affected vehicles into 12 priority groups that correspond to the risk of airbag explosion based on a vehicle’s age and its exposure to heat and humidity. Independent testing has found that the faulty airbag inflators are most likely to rupture after long-term exposure to temperature fluctuations and moisture, so older vehicles and those located in high-humidity parts of the country are considered top priorities for repair.

Owners can check to see if their vehicle is affected and get information by entering their vehicle’s VIN on NHTSA’s online recall lookup tool.

Ferrari worth £200,000 crashes into garden of Bath home after driver 'lost control'

For the record and for the great journalism here with the sarcastic "lost control" inverted comas I will tell you exactly what happened
as I was the driver ...
I approached the rouandabout and applied the brake the car immediately applied full power and no matter how much I stamped on
the brake the car would not slow down and the brakes would not hold it back. I had no chance to turn the key off as the roundabout
was looming rapidly .... TBh it was the most horrific experience ever, The car has now gone back to Ferrari for full investigation and
they will be keen to find out what went wrong with the car. As usual people and journalist  like this writer jump to conclusions ..........
the car had a major and seriously dangerous fault. Luckily for me a witness heard and saw the whole incident and confirmed to the
police the car was reving uncontrollably with full brake light on hence no action was taken against me.

The real Story here is the fact the car did what it did putting not just my life at risk but anyone who could have been in the way.
I am not the only one this has happened to there are others online who have had the same experience with these cars .......

I couldnt Dave I did try but to be honest the whole thing happened so suddenly and fast .... the thing was reving like mad
and the brakes were heating up and no longer holding the car back , hence I made the decision to head for the bank and
trees rather than risk charging up the road at speed and killing someone .... I will let you know what they say

Ferrari worth £200,000 crashes into garden of Bath home after driver 'lost control'

The incident happened near the Bathford roundabout on A4 Box Road at around 7.40am

A Ferrari worth around £200,000 crashed into the front garden of home in Bath this morning (January 6).
The incident happened on A4 Box Road at around 7.40am after the vehicle left the road at the Bathford roundabout, crossed the pavement and ended up in the garden.
According to the owner of the house, who was woken by the sound of the crash, the driver said there was an issue with his accelerator.
“My husband and son were awake and heard the crash,” she told the Chronicle.
“It woke me up and I ran straight down, checked the driver was ok, phoned police and made driver a cup of tea.
“The driver said the throttle stuck on and he couldn't slow down to take the roundabout.

The driver was not injured in the incident

“He lost control and went across the pavement, flattened two bollards that the council put in and went through all my recycling and rubbish - luckily not a person.”
As well as the damage to the recycling bins and bollards, the car damaged the front garden wall, trees and hedges, while there was also significant damage to the vehicle.
Police attended the scene and the Ferrari 458 Spider was later recovered around 12.30pm.
The homeowner said it is not the first time something like this has happened in the area, adding that similar incidents happen “at least once a year”.

The Ferrari was later recovered

She said the residents have tried to get Bath and North East Somerset Council to put a barrier up, but they have not been able to get very far with the request.
“Us and the other residents here have reported many incidents like this to the police, the council, highways, local MP to try and get a more substantial safety barrier installed,” she said.
“There have been eight new houses built along this road in the last two years. That's an increase of 25 per cent more possible pedestrians using that pavement.
“It's a main walkway from Batheaston to Bathford. Even at the early time of the crash, there were joggers, people walking dogs, people walking to work.”

The Bathford roundabout

She said the residents have asked whether a barrier installed for the safety of the workmen along the Batheaston bypass in 2016 could be recycled and put where it is needed.
However, this request has been ignored by the council’s highways team.
“The road isn't the problem” she added. “There are adequate speed limit signs, warnings of the roundabout, 'reduce speed' bumps, etc.
“It's just the odd driver going too fast or just losing control that we need protecting from.”

Toyota expands Takata airbag recall by 600,000 units

PLEASE!

If your vehicle has an EXPLOSIVE TAKATA AIRBAG, PLEASE!

For your protection, get this corrected!

Toyota expands Takata airbag recall by 600,000 units

by Drew Johnson

Toyota's Takata airbag recall just got bigger.

Toyota has expanded its already massive Takata airbag recall by more than 600,000 vehicles. The recall covers a wide variety of Toyota, Scion and Lexus branded vehicles ranging from the 2009 to 2013 model years.

According to Toyota, vehicles covered by the recall may have been fitted with a defective front passenger airbag sourced from Takata. The inflators in those airbags are susceptible to degradation if exposed to high humidity, high temperatures of high temperature cycling. If compromised, those inflators could rupture in the event of an airbag deployment.

Vehicles covered by the recall include the Toyota Corolla, Corolla Matrix, Yaris, 4Runner and Sienna. On the Scion side, the recall covers the xB. Lexus is also recalling its IS, IS-F, ES and GX models over the defect. In all 601,300 vehicle are included in the recall.

Toyota says the recall campaign will officially begin in March. Dealers will replace the airbag free of charge.

Takata adds 3.3 million faulty airbags to largest automotive recall in U.S. history

Takata adds 3.3 million faulty airbags to largest automotive recall in U.S. history

By
National Online Journalist  Global News

The Japanese airbag maker Takata continues to expand its massive parts recall by recalling an additional 3.3 million airbags.
According to reports from CBS, the latest addition to the recall includes airbags from some 2009, 2010 and 2013 vehicles made by Honda, Toyota, Audi, BMW, Daimler, Fiat Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Jaguar-Land Rover, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru and Tesla.
WATCH: Class action lawsuits against Takata

Takata is an automotive parts supplier that filed for bankruptcy in June after sparking the largest automotive recall in U.S. history with a recall of three million vehicles in 2014. Since then, the recall has been intermittently expanded.
Forbes reports that defective Takata airbags could potentially explode in a crash and spray vehicle occupants with small metal shards.
WATCH: Recall impact on Japanese car maker Takata

The bags have been linked to over 180 injuries and 18 deaths, including the most recent one identified in Louisiana last month.
Just a few days into 2018, the judge overseeing the bankruptcy of Takata Corp’s U.S. unit cleared the way for the company’s creditors to vote on its chapter 11 plan — which critics say limits the legal rights of those who’ve been injured by the faulty airbags.
Criticisms include claims that the plan favours automakers over vehicle owners. The trust would pay compensation based on the injury, ranging from $10,000 to $5 million USD for death or loss of eyesight, according to hearing documents.
However, car owners would be barred from suing Honda, and other auto makers who opted to join the trust arrangement.
Currently there are plans for a supplier owned by China’s Ningbo Joyson Electronic Corp., plans to acquire the Takata Corp.
These recalls have included Takata airbags in Canada, two of which took place in December 2017.
The first recalled faulty airbags on 2004, 2005 and 2006 Ford Rangers and the second involved faulty airbags on 2016 and 2017 Mitsubishi I-Mievs.

Approximately 30,000 Ford Rangers were affected, while just over 200 Mitsubishi I-Mievs were affected.
Forbes goes on to report that almost two-thirds, or 31.5 million U.S. vehicles affected have not been repaired as of mid-September, according to an independent report released in November.
