Airborne car crash lands into roof of occupied home as awestruck neighbors wonder how it possibly happened

A speeding driver lost control at a turn, sped up a hill, and bounced off one house before going airborne and crashing upside down into the roof of another.

While still firmly on a Harris County, Texas street, police say the man was likely driving upwards of 90 MPH when he lost control on a turn.
The details aren’t totally clear, but what happened next on Sunday has neighbors flummoxed.

The driver careened up an embankment at dangerous speeds and first crashed into one home.
It was either before or after hitting the first home that the truck went airborne and crashed upside down into the roof of the second.
Both homes were occupied at the time.
Lucky guy: After a 10 hour rescue effort, the driver made it out totally and miraculously unscathed
Emergency workers made it to the scene and the driver miraculously walked away with few, if any, injuries.
But not until a 10 hour rescue effort to dislodge his vehicle from deep inside the home.
A crew hitched a crane up to the truck and, slowly but surely, managed to lower it back to earth.
No clue: Area residents gawked for hours and took photos, perplexed as to how it all happened
‘I mean, this guy was bouncing off houses. He ended up on a roof. I don't know how you walk out,’ he said.
Like the driver, no one was injured in either home.
However, the home appeared badly damaged along with, not surprisingly, the flying pickup truck.
Most other residents and passersby were at a loss as to how it all happened.

‘Absolutely once in a lifetime,’ said neighbor Stephen Wilson. ‘It's unbelievable.’
Another neighbor echoed Wilson’s sentiment.
‘I've seen bad accidents here, but this is really the worst one I've ever seen,’ said Justin Hopper.

Throughout the rescue efforts, crowds gathered to snap pictures and watch the spectacle.
‘It's just outrageous,’ Hopper said.
Thus far, authorities have not charged the unnamed driver with a crime. However, they are investigating whether or not alcohol was a contributing factor.
