UPON ENTERING THE HIGHWAY AT 55 MPH MY 2009 HYUNDAI SANTA FE TOOK OFF AND THE GAS PADDLE GOT STUCK FOR 15 - 20 SECONDS EVEN
THOUGH IT FELT LIKE A LIFE TIME. I STUMPED ON BRAKE PEDAL AND TRIED TO PUMPED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO NO AVAIL. THE RPM ON MY CAR WAS
REGISTERED AT 6-7 AND THE ENGINE WAS VERY LOUD. I GOT THE CAR TO STOP BY PLACING THE TRANSMISSION IN THE NEUTRAL POSITION. I
CALLED THE NEAREST DEALER TO MY HOME TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. SO TO THEM
THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE. TO ME AND MY TWO DAUGHTERS THIS EXPERIENCE IS A NIGHTMARE AND THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO
DRIVE. SINCE 2002 I BOUGHT 5 HYUNDAI CARS (2002 SONATA, 2003 SANTA FE (DAUGHTER IN LAW DRIVES), 2004 SANTA FE (SON DRIVES), 2004 SANTA
FE (DAUGHTER DRIVES) AND MY CAR 2009 SANTA FE. AS YOU CAN SEE FROM MY MULTIPLE PURCHASES I LOVED DRIVING AND OWNING HYUNDAI
SANTA FE'S. I AM VERY UPSET BECAUSE WE COULD HAVE DIED! I AM EVEN MORE UPSET THAT HYUNDAI WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS
AND MAKE EXCUSES SO THEY WILL NOT HAVE TO MAKE REPAIRS. THE $$$ MUST BE WORTH MORE THAN PEOPLES LIVES. THE HYUNDAI DEALER IN
NORTH EAST PHILADELPHIA EVEN HAD THE NERVE TO BLAME ME BECAUSE HE SAID NOT REPLICATE THE INCIDENT AND IT WAS NOT IN THE CARS
COMPUTER. SHAME ON YOU HYUNDAI, SHAME ON YOU DEALERS. THIS IS THE LAST HYUNDAI THAT I WILL EVER OWN, I WILL NO LONGER
RECOMMEND ANY OF YOUR CARS TO ANYONE BUT I WILL SHARE MY STORY WITH THEM. YOU LOST A CUSTOMER AND I WILL JOIN ANY CLASS ACTION
SUIT AND I WILL CALL THE TV STATIONS TO REPORT THIS PROBLEM. I DO NOT THINK THAT ANYONE SHOULD DIE BEFORE YOU FIX THE PROBLEM -
WHAT ABOUT YOU HYUNDAI? PEOPLES LIVES OR $$$$$. I AM PLANNING ON REPLACING THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR AND GETTING RID FOR THE

WHILE GETTING ONTO THE HIGHWAY FROM THE ON RAMP THE CAR BEGAN TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN. THE GAS PEDAL BEGAN TO DEPRESS
ITSELF WITHOUT ME DOING IT. THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT ENGAGED AND THE FLOOR MATT WAS NOT THE CAUSE. BRAKING WAS DIFFICULT AND
THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO REV. I PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY AND STOPPED THE ENGINE. AFTER TELLING MY FAMILY ABOUT THE INCIDENT MY
DAUGHTER TOLD ME THAT IT HAD OCCURRED TWICE BEFORE IN THE SAME MANNER ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO.

A CEMENT BARRIER, A CURB, WENT AIRBORNE, LANDED IN A BUSH WHICH IT TORE IN HALF AND TOOK WITH ME, ACROSS THE SIDEWALK AND SPUN

IT HAS BEEN FOR ONE MONTH AS HYUNDAI DRAGGED THEIR HEELS UNTIL I GOT ANGRY AND EMAILED THEM. TWO DAYS AFTER I EMAILED THEM I
GOT THE FOLLOWING LEAVING ME WITH THE REPAIRS AS WELL AS PAYING FOR THE RENTAL FOR A MONTH. THANK YOU FOR YOUR RECENT
CORRESPONDENCE. WE HAVE THOROUGHLY REVIEWED YOUR COMMENTS AND REGRET THE CIRCUMSTANCES YOU HAVE EXPERIENCED. WE HAVE
REVIEWED THE MATERIALS PROVIDED AND INSPECTED YOUR SANTA FE. THE ENTIRE ACCELERATION SYSTEM, INCLUDING THE PEDALS AND

BRAKING. I APPLIED MORE PRESSURE BUT THE CAR DID NOT STOP UNTIL I THREW IT INTO PARK AND HAD HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I CALLED 911
TO REPORT THE ACCIDENT. THE CAR IN FRONT HAD SOME GATE CRACK. MY CAR HAD CRACKED PLASTIC UNDER THE BUMPER AND MARKS ON THE
PLASTIC PART OF THE BUMPER.

TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE BEHAVED AS IF, IT WERE IN NEUTRAL, ALTHOUGH THE GEAR SHIFT WAS IN DRIVE AND THE CHECK ENGINE
LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO FIND A DEALER, WHERE THEY APPLIED AN APPROVED UPDATE TO THE COMPUTER BOARD. THE
VEHICLE PERFORMED AS DESIGNED FOR THE NEXT 500 MILES. THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED FOUR SIMILAR FAILURES, WHILE DRIVING ON THE
PARKWAY. THE CONSUMER WENT TO ANOTHER DEALER, AND THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE. THE CONSUMER HAS SINCE DRIVEN 1,000 MILES,
WITH NO PROBLEM.

WAS IN A PARKING LOT. I HAVE READ OF SIMILAR EXPERIENCES ON THE INTERNET. I HAVE NOTIFIED THE DEALER AND HYUNDAI CUSTOMER SERVICE
OF BOTH INCIDENTS. HYUNDAI HAS ADVISED THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN REALLY DO UNLESS THEY ARE ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE.

I WAS ON THE HIGH WAY I CHANGED LANES AND WHEN I DID I NEEDED TO ACCELERATE TO CHANGE LANES. AFTER CHANGING LANES I HAD TO HIT
THE BREAKS TO SLOW DOWN, THE BREAK SEEMED TO ACT LIKE A GAS PEDAL. THE CAR WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN THE BREAKS WOULD NOT SLOW
THE CAR IT ACCELERATED TO 80MPH. I WAS NOT HITTING THE ACCELERATOR BY MISTAKE. THERE WAS NOTHING STUCK UNDER THE PEDALS. I
BELIEVE IT WAS THE THROTTLE POSITIONING SENSOR,TPS. I LOOKED THIS UP ON THE INTERNET THERE ARE MANY INSTANCES OF THIS HAPPENING
WITH THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD I THOUGHT ME AND MY UNBORN CHILD WERE GOING TO DIE. I HAVE
YET TO CONTACT MY DEALERSHIP HOWEVER AS FAR AS I AM AWARE THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE. AND THERE SHOULD BE! THE CAR
HAS 104800 MILES ROUGHLY. THE CAR ACCELERATED TO 80 MILES PER HOUR ON ITS OWN PRIOR TO THAT I WAS GOING ABOUT 55 MILES PER HOUR.
IT ASKED FOR THIS INFORMATION ON THE NEXT PART OF THIS FORM HOWEVER IT WAS NOT ALLOWING ME TO TYPE IT.

IGNITION, THE ENGINE WAS REVVING AT A VERY FAST RATE. I CHECKED THE FLOOR MAT AND GAS PEDAL AND THERE WAS NO PROBLEMS NOTED. I
DO NOT BELIEVE THE FLOOR MAT WAS A FACTOR IN THIS. I BELIEVE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE THAT NEEDS INVESTIGATED. THE
VEHICLE IS WITH THE DEALER NOW.

AUTHORIZED DEALER BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE DEALER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THEY
COULD FIND NO SIMILAR FAILURES. THE FAILURE OCCURRED THREE TIMES AND OTHER TIMES, THE PROBLEM STOPPED WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL
WAS DEPRESSED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 51,000.

OFF IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY THE VIBRATION WHEN AT A STILL MODE IS SO ANNOYING HYUNDAI KNOWS THIS PROBLEM EXISTS WHY DONT THEY

GROUND WENT ON TWO WHEELS ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE AND THEN CAME DOWN UNTO THE 4; STIRRED STRAIT INTO CLEARING BETWEEN TREES;
SAMPLING AND DIRT STOPPED VEHICLE. 1 PASSENGER CONTESTS HE HAS SLIGHT FRACTURE ON SKULL; THE NEAR FATALITY MIGHT HAVE BEEN TO A
PLAUSIBLE NUMBER OF CHILDREN, PARENTS, ADULTS , CARS AND TRACTOR TRAILERS ON MAIN ROAD. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN . THE AFTER RESULT
IS THE NERVOUSNESS THAT RIDES IN ONE'S SOUL WHEN ON THE ROAD. HAD OVER 20 WITNESSES TO THIS EVENT. THIS IS AN ONGOING EPIDEMIC,MY

NO MATTER HOW YOU TRY TO CONTROL THE PRESSURE ON THE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE JUST TAKES OFF. I HAD THIS CHECKED OUT 2X SINCE BUYING VEHICLE IN DEC. O7. AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IS THE WAY THE COMPUTER WORKS WITH THE VEHICLE. I FIND THIS TO BE VERY UN-NERVING AND DANGEROUS. THIS IS A CONTINUOUS PROBLEM, AND I HAVE HAD A FRIEND DRIVE VEHICLE AND HE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM.

WHILE WAITING FOR THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TO CHANGE TO GREEN, MY CAR WAS STOPPED, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. . MY CAR LEARCHED
FORWARD. I COULD FEEL THE ENGINE ACCELERATE. BY THE TIME I GOT THE CAR UNDER CONTROL, I HIT THE CAR THAT WAS IN FRONT OF ME. THE
TRUNK WAS DAMAGED, NO DAMAGE TO MY CAR. SINCE OWNING THIS CAR I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ACCELERATION BEFORE. I HAVE DISCUSSED
THIS WITH THE DEALER, THE DISCUSSING ENDS UP WITH THE DEALER SUGGESTING THAT I WAS PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL AND NOT THE BRAKE. I
TOLD THE DEALER THAT WHEN THIS OCCURS PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL DOES NOTHING. THE SHIFT MUST BE MOVED TO NEUTRAL THE FOOT
TAKEN OFF THE BRAKE. EVERY TIME I DISCUSS THIS PROBLEM WITH THE DEALER HE SAYS SHOW HIM WHAT HAPPENS, THE PROBLEM I CAN NOT
RECREATE THE PROBLEM. THE OCCURRENCE OF THE PROBLEM IS RANDOM AND CANNOT BE CREATED. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THAT I WAS THE ONLY
ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM, BUT AS I READ THE COMPLAINTS I AM NOT ALONE. HYUNDAI HAS GOT TO LOOK INTO THIS PROBLEM.

THERE ARE NO SKIDS MARKS AT THE SCENE AIRBAGS WERE DEPLOY BUT WHEN? STEERING COLUMN IS CRUSHED IN AND STEERING WHEEL WAS
BENT INWARD. THE ROAD SHE WAS ON IS A RESIDENTIAL SIDE STREET. THERE IS A 100 FEET DOWNGRADE BUT STRAIGHT AS YOU APPROACH THE
STOP SIGN. THE "T" INTERSECTION IS A TWO LANE NOT WELL TRAVELED ROAD. SHE DROVE THIS ROAD MANY TIMES BEFORE. WHAT MAKES A
VEHICLE TRAVEL AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED IN A 100 FEET STRAIGHT AWAY, GO THROUGH A STOP SIGN GET AIRBORNE AFTER CROSSING HIGHWAY?
ACCELERATION STICKING? WHY IS THERE SO MUCH DAMAGE TO STEERING COLUMN IF AIRBAG WENT OFF? COULD THE ACCELERATOR GET STUCK
AND MY MOTHER PANIC AND TRIED TO STOP CAR BY STEPPING ON BRAKES MAKING A PANIC DECISION, NOT KNOWING TO TAKE VEHICLE OUT OF
GEAR OR TURNING VEHICLE OFF? WAS THERE ENOUGH TIME. I LOST MY MOTHER AND AFTER READING ALL THE PROBLEMS, I THINK THESE AND ALL

IN SEPTEMBER 2005. WE HAVE RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AS WELL AS CONTACTED THE HYUNDAI CORPORATE USA
HEADQUARTERS, BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE PROBLEM RELATES TO THE GAS PEDAL AND ITS ACCELERATION. WHEN THE CAR IS AT A STOP AND YOU
APPLY YOUR FOOT TO THE GAS PEDAL, IT HESITATES AND THEN LURCHES FORWARD. THIS IN ITSELF IS DANGEROUS ENOUGH, BUT IF THE ROADS
ARE WET OR SNOW COVERED, THE CAR TENDS TO SLIP AND SKID. BY WAY OF EXPLANATION, THE DEALER CLAIMS THIS DELAY IN ACCELERATION IS
DUE TO THE FLY-BY WIRE ACCELERATION SYSTEM. INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH, THE DEALERSHIP AND THE HEAD QUARTERS ACKNOWLEDGE THE
PROBLEM, BUT STATE THAT IT IS MERELY A FUNCTION OF THE VEHICLE AND THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE. WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE THIS
PROBLEM CORRECTED BEFORE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OCCURS AND WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ASSISTANCE THAT YOU COULD PROVIDE. THANKING

COMPLAINT IS ABOUT A 2005 HYUNDAI SANTA FE LX WITH 3.5L ENGINE. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE ACCELERATOR THAT THERE IS A DELAY IN
RESPONSE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED. THIS DELAY IS OVER A SECOND LONG, AND CAUSES THE DRIVER TO KEEP PRESSING DOWN ON
THE ACCELERATOR. WHEN THE SENSOR FINALLY REACTS, THERE IS MORE ACCELERATION APPLIED THAN IS DESIRED, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO
START OUT FASTER THAN INTENDED, OR NOT STARTING OUT WHEN THE DRIVER WANTED TO. THIS IS DANGEROUS AS THE DRIVER DOES NOT KNOW
HOW MUCH ACCELERATION WILL BE APPLIED TO THE ENGINE, OR WHEN THE CAR WILL START MOVING, THUS MAKING IT DIFFICULT WHEN TO APPLY
GAS, AND NOT KNOWING HOW THE CAR WILL REACT.

MY 2005 SANTA FE 3.5L ENGINE HAS A COMPUTER OPERATED GAS PEDAL THAT MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO ACHIEVE A SMOOTH LINEAR ACCELERATION. I
FEEL THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE CORRECTED BEFORE AND ACCIDENT OR INJURY OCCURS. THERE WAS A DELAY IN ACCELERATION THAT
OCCURRED BETWEEN THE GAS PEDAL AND THE TRANSMISSION. THIS SITUATION WAS ESPECIALLY AGGRAVATED ON WET, SNOWY OR ICY ROADS.
THE MANUFACTURER CHANGED THE CABLE SYSTEM GAS PEDAL TO A COMPUTER OPERATED GAS PEDAL.

2004 HYUNDAI SANTA FE WITH BRAKE FAILURE. CONSUMER STATES THAT HYUNDAI HAS NOT COME UP WITH A REASON WHY THIS FAILURE HAS
OCCURRED. CONSUMER BARELY MISSED AN ACCIDENT BY APPLYING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND SLIDING TO A STOP. THE CONSUMER STATED A
RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED FOR THE ABS, HOWEVER HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED THE RECALL. THE DEALER SUGGESTED ALL TYPES OF
SCENARIO'S FOR THE BRAKE FAILURE. THE CONSUMER SUSPECTED THERE MAY BE A DEFECT IN THE ABS. THE CONSUMER STATED THE BRAKES
WERE APPLIED AND SLOWING THE VEHICLE NORMALLY WHEN THEY SUDDENLY DISENGAGED. THE CONSUMER STATED HE WAS UNABLE TO
DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM BY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. THE CRUISE
CONTROL WAS MANUALLY DISENGAGED BY PRESSING THE CRUISE CONTROL OFF BUTTON AFTER PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES
FAILED TO DISENGAGE THE SYSTEM

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE
UNEXPECTEDLY INCREASED ACCELERATION. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED REPEATEDLY; HOWEVER FAILED TO REDUCE SPEED AND CRASHED
INTO THE PROCEEDING VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO PERSONAL INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED OF THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE
SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END BUMPER AND WAS NOT TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE
PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
