Jury Told Nissan Owes $231M For Fatal Crash-Causing Defect


Law360, Los Angeles (July 19, 2017, 8:42 PM EDT) -- Attorneys for family members of three people killed in a traffic accident and the driver that hit them urged a California jury on Wednesday to find that the crash was caused by a brake defect in the driver’s Nissan-made SUV, and asked for more than $231 million in damages.

Nissan is facing claims brought by both Solomon Mathenge, whose Infiniti QX56 SUV in 2012 crashed into a minivan in a Hollywood intersection, killing a woman and her two daughters, and by family members of the deceased.
