Hybrid high and dry
Daniel Challis January 21, 2010An outbound lane of Ipswich Road was closed this morning after a hybrid car smashed through shop awnings at Annerley.
Nobody was hurt when the Toyota Prius mounted the kerb and collapsed the awnings near the corner of Dudley Street East and Ipswich Road at about 7.30am today.
The Prius came to rest after it crashed into a light pole.
Witnesses told brisbanetimes.com.au that the male driver, in his early twenties, walked away and did not appear to be injured.
The left lane was closed as crews worked to remove the car and repair the awnings.
